depends on the riding you do.
i have impacts, spitfire and an older model, ba51c. the ba51c's sole was way too thin and flexy for anything other than a casual ride with my son, or good for dj, if you're into that. the impacts were a great improvement over the ba51c.
the spitfire is similar to the freeride with a very comfy fit (think skate shoes) but a firmer sole for riding. the impacts are much tougher than skate shoes, and i think may be just a touch stiffer in the sole, but weigh more too if that concerns you.
if you do dh, go impact. anything else the spitfire (which was on sale at jenson or blue sky, i think) or freeride will be great. they are more comfy than impacts, but the spitfire was also a little narrower in the toe box.
i think the new barons are a little more structured than the freeride/spitfire and kind of an in-between of those models and the heavy duty impacts. may be a good choice if you are an aggressive rider but don't need the full protection/support of the impacts.
give a text to 5.10 on their web site. the staff is very informative and friendly.
