chain tensioner

I need recommendations for a good chain tensioner for my mountain bike. I have a 24 speed mountain bike and would like to put a tensioner on it to control the bounce on my Chain when Im riding downhill. I have also considered removing one of my chain rings and getting a chain guide. Any advice out there would be greatly appreciated Thanks

What kind of bike is it first off....Also Chain retention devices attach usually with tabs...Does your frame have them...Also how many rings are you thinking of keeping...These questions all limit your choices.
