When you wear out the Captain, try the Ground Control. Faster with the same grip in all but the loosest of dry dirt. CG is better in the wet, it sheds mud better than the Captain.
I guess I should answer the original question LOL
Front: WTB Weirwolf LT, 2.55" - lotsa volume @ 18psi = a little cushion on a rigid bike
Rear: Older Specialized Fast Trak, 2.0" - pretty fast, decent grip
Front: Specialized Ground Control, 2.1" - grippy but still pretty fast rolling
Rear: Specialized Renegade, 1.95" - very little rolling resistance, very light (510g in the 29er size!), plenty grippy for a rear tire 'round these parts
^both of these are tubeless.
Test Bike (rigid SS)
Front: Kenda Nevegal, 2.3" with a tube. Tubes suck. Heavy as a boat anchor and rolls as nice as one too.
Rear: New Specialized Fast Trak, 2.0", with a tube. Tubes really do suck. Great tire though.
